Green electricity through numerous solar projects
BEE has been producing green electricity through numerous solar projects for over 10 years for customers in energy-intensive sectors such as the agricultural sector, the food industry, hospitals and the process industry, but also for companies dealing with more stable, lower consumption, such as retail.
Chimay brewery brews with green wind energy from BEE
Since October 2020, the imposing, graceful blades of a wind turbine have been rotating at the production site of the Chimay brewery. The installation of this wind turbine is part of a sustainable development plan designed in a collaboration between Brasseries de Chimay and BEE.
Avient (formerly PolyOne)
Early in 2011, the American multinational Avient (formerly PolyOne) expressed its interest in installing wind turbines on its site in Assesse, near Ciney. Previous similar projects initiated by several companies had failed due to restrictions and environmental regulations.
Bio Energy Base
At the beginning of January 2020, BEE started the construction of a new green heat plant based on wood waste that cannot be recycled locally: the Bio Energy Base. The power plant, based in the port of Ghent (North Sea Port) on the site of Ghent Coal Terminal, is in operation since June 2022.
